Hurricane Katrina Relief EffortsSylvan Hills Masonic Lodge #754 in Sherwood AR responded tothe immense need created by the hurricanes in 2005, by holding food drives for the Arkansas Foodbank Network. The Foodbank Network helped provide food and essential needs for the thousands of evacuees that came to AR. The Lodge responded rapidly to the need, collecting nearly 900 pounds of food and paper goods, starting 9/3/2005. 
T.J. Henwood and Mike Snyder on the right in the above picture hit the streets and gathered donations. These donations were delivered to the AR Foodbank Network warehouse in Little Rock for distribution to the needy. In addition, the members donated almost $600 in cash to the Foodbank. The Foodbank tells us they can provide 6 meals for each dollar donated. This is accomplished through matching funds. |
